A
minimum of 21" clear floor space should be allowed
between the edge of the dishwasher and counters,
appliances and/or cabinets which are placed at a
right angle to the dishwasher.
Comment:
Notice in figures 2 and 3 how access to the sink is restricted
when the dishwasher door is open. In these instances,
the dishwasher should be moved further down the cabinet
row to allow standing room at sink when the dishwasher
door is open. Notice in figure 1 the dishwasher has easy
access from both sides and in no way restricts access
to sink.
